功能
扫描仪
旋风 RN配备了专用的地面侦察扫描器，具备探测可感知信号（如红外线或电磁）的来源的能力。侦测信号的难度取决于源的输出以及旋风上的设备。扫描结果无法准确指示特定来源，比如废弃地标或物品储藏处，但通常会告知操作员在扫描范围内存在一个大型结构。RN型号的升级雷达系统预计具备比标准旋风更长的探测距离和更好的探测能力，同时配备数据存储库，可以存储更多的扫描数据，有助于绘制行星表面的地图。[2]
行星信标
旋风 RN配备了一批小型信标，可以用来标记地面上的重要位置。这些信标会发出强烈的信号，其他具有有限扫描强度的车辆或舰船可以接收到，即使在危险或视线受阻的情况下，比如沙尘暴等。[3]
