The Aegis Vanguard Hoplite is a cross between the Vanguard deep space fighter and a dedicated boarding ship. Adapting the reliable base design for combined operations, the Hoplite is designed to insert an armored strike team in its target location and provide it with fire support until extraction.[1]

Development
The Vanguard is the promised twin-engine deep space fighter of the 60 million stretch goal. It is originally known as Bulldog. The concept was inspired by the twin-engine aircraft of World War II, like the 
de Havilland Mosquito and the Messerschmitt 110.[2]
The Hoplite was not a part of the initial three variants of the Vanguard series,[3] it was created due to the requirement of a dropship in 42中队. With the expanded interior to house drop team, the exterior hull is expanded compared to the other variants.[缺乏引证]
