The Holiday Special 2017 was a pre-recorded video event organised by 云间帝国游戏 primarily to showcase the ongoing development of 42中队. Having been pulled from the CitizenCon 2016 presentation at the last minute, the "Vertical Slice" demo was given over a year of polish before finally appearing as the main feature of the Holiday Special 2017.[缺乏引证]
