剃刀

	The MISC Razor is a racer developed for the 2947 穆雷杯. It features an advanced composite spaceframe, cutting edge fuel collections systems, minimal cross-section, sleek aerodynamic lines, and proprietary 希安 influenced thruster design that puts pure speed ahead of everything else.^[1]^[2]

剃刀 EX

	The 武藏工业与星航株式会社 Razor EX is the stealth variant of the 剃刀 racer, outfitted with signature-reducing materials and stealth components. It was originally a specialty build for the UEE Advocacy for use in surveillance and extraction operations.^[3]

	The 武藏工业与星航株式会社 Razor LX is a variant of the 剃刀 racer, features an overclocked engine, reduced maneuverability and armaments in exchange of straight-line speed.^[4]

History

In 2833, 科里·戴斯蒙, who became the CEO of MISC, decided to try and expand MISC's ship manufacturing focus from heavy, industrial ships to lighter, more maneuverable ones. He sets his sights on the dream of a "MISC ship taking the 穆雷杯" as the company's focus. The result was the predecessor of Razor, Daedalus.^{[缺乏引证]} In 2898, when the New Horizon Speedway opened on Green, the MISC racing team compete in the race with a Daedalus mkVIII, but they did not win the race.

Development

The Razor was introduced in 2016-12-16 as a new racer concept. Unlike previous racing ships that have been designed with a dual role in mind or as adaptations of existing ships (the 野马伽马 and 350r), the Razor was the first that is intended to be a racer from the skids up.https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ The ship's concept is designed by Jort van Welbergen (Concept Artist) in collaboration with Paul Jones (Art Director).^[9] Jonny Jacevicius (Technical Designer), John Crewe (Lead Technical Designer) are responsible for the tech design.^[10]

Aims	MISCs entry into racing and the Murray Cup Japanese sports car styling Obvious Xi'an influence, especially on the engines
Aesthetic	Take inspiration from Japanese sports cars and racers and infuse it with Xi'an engine tech

Approximate statistics
Length	N/A	Should be a small ship, comparable in size to the other racing ships, but much closer to the smaller M50. Length/width measurement can be interchangeable (wider than it is long, or vice versa).
Mass	~11,000 kg	This is dependent on the final length of the ship, but should be another lightweight fighter similarly to the M50 and 350r.
Crew	1	For one crew member only.
Engine	2+	Current racers have 2 engines, but the amount can be variable depending on the ship concept and aesthetic.
Thrusters	12 x Fixed Thrusters	4 top, 4 bottom and 4 on the sides. Fixed thrusters offer more immediate response than gimballed ones and so would be favourable on a highly manoeuvrable racer.
Power Plants	1 x Small	Matches the size of the current racers to keep them competitive.
Weapon Hardpoints	2 x S2 Energy Weapons 1 x S1 Missile Rack	Proper pass needed. Some light weapons to afford some amount of protection when out in the 'verse, but is not intended to be the hardest hitting of the racing ships.
Shield	2 x Small	Racers vary between having one and three small shields. Two would give it some reasonable protection without making it too tough.
Armour	Light	Relates to ship HP; very light armour, not meant to withstand attacks but instead to remain lightweight.

Notes
Unstable at Speed	The Racer is the fastest straight line racing ship available, but at maximum speeds it suffers issues with stability. IFCS helps to correct stability issues at top speed for this ship.
M50 Competitor	Competitor to the M50, but trades off some agility for a little extra straight line speed and power.

The Razor EX and LX was first teased in the Star Citizen Alpha 3.1.0 in the MISC Razor video without announcing the name of the ships.^[11] They were briefly sold as ship upgrades on the pledge store as an accident.^[12] The ships remained in the game files of 3.1 until they are officially announced on 2018-05-25 in the MISC Celebrates 50 Years post.^[8]
