Oretani II is a large non-oxygen ocean world[1]. It was immediately cleared for terraforming. An ocean world with small land masses, it was located on the system's green band, and had been chosen as a prime candidate for future settlement[2].
Turiya Terraforming took on the task of making the planet fit for Human habitation in 2483. Thousands of workers and their families took up residence in orbital stations on the condition that they would move to the planet once it was inhabitable. Early reports indicated that the results were positive, and that terraformation would likely be completed ahead of schedule. It is uncertain whether those left stranded there after the 2485 jump point collapse were ultimately able to relocate to the planet.
