UEES Triggerfish is a first generation (Flight I) Aegis Hammerhead deployed in 2774. It was one of the six Hammerheads allocated to the Fifth Fleet to serve as a proof-of-concept for newly developed carrier warfare doctrine. In 2775, a Vanduul raiding squadron including the original Hammerheads encountered a skirmisher group. Eight Vanduul ships were repulsed without ever entering the visual range of the battle group's flagship. Six Scythes were shot down and two forced to escape. Within the fight, UEES Triggerfish scoring an impressive three air-to-air kills. Later in the year, it destroyed an outlaw raider group and became the first ace Hammerhead crew.[1]
Trivia
- The UEE Military chose to name the initial wave (Flight I) of Hammerheads after sea life from around the Empire.
- The word "Triggerfish" is commonly used in the UEE in relation to the holiday of the same name.[2]
